# Create your account and organization

## Create your account & organization

**What it is** — This is the first step into Mochi: creating your login, setting up your organization, and unlocking your account with the access code Mochi sends you.

**Who can use it** — Anyone can start this flow, but it's meant for the first person setting up your organization — that person becomes the **Creator**, and there's only one per organization. If you're joining a team that's already on Mochi, you don't need this article — use the invite your Manager or Creator sends you instead (see *Invite your team & roles* in the Team & Leads module). Available on web (`use.themochi.app`) and mobile browser; once your account exists, you sign in the same way on iOS.

### How to create your account

1. Go to `use.themochi.app`.
2. Enter your email address.
3. Open your inbox and click the magic login link Mochi sends you. It expires in **15 minutes**, so click it soon after it arrives.
4. Create your organization — enter your **organization name** and upload a **logo**.
5. Enter your **access code** to unlock your account. It's sent to you in your welcome email and follows a name-prefixed format like `ACME-48213` — your organization's prefix plus a five-digit number.

Mochi uses passwordless login — there's no password to set or remember. Every time you sign in, you'll request a fresh magic link the same way.

### Common mistakes & fixes

| Mistake                                                              | Fix                                                                                      |
| -------------------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Magic link email never arrives                                       | Check spam/junk first. Still nothing after 15 minutes? Email **<hey@themochi.app>**.     |
| Clicked the link and it says expired                                 | Magic links expire in 15 minutes. Go back to `use.themochi.app` and request a new one.   |
| Lost or never received your access code                              | Check your welcome email (and spam). Still missing? Email **<hey@themochi.app>**.        |
| You were invited by your team but tried to create a new organization | You don't need this flow — use the invite link your Manager or Creator sent you instead. |

### Tips

* Use the email address you check most often — it's how you'll log in every time, since there's no separate password.
* Upload a real logo when you create your organization — it's what your whole team sees across the app.

### Limits & good to know

* Only one **Creator** per organization — the person who originally sets it up. Everyone else joins as a Manager, Setter, or Closer.
* The access code is specific to your organization and formatted like `NAME-#####` (e.g. `ACME-48213`) — don't share it outside your team.
