# Voice Notes

## Voice Notes

**What it is** — Send a lead a voice note two ways: type your message and click the (purple) voice-note icon to have Mochi speak it in the creator's cloned voice, or save a fixed, pre-recorded memo once in Content Hub and reuse it across leads. Either way, it delivers as a native Instagram voice note in the thread.

**Who can use it** — Anyone on the team can send a voice note, once the org has the relevant setup done: voice cloning configured for the cloned-voice flow, or a saved memo in Content Hub for the fixed-memo flow. Available on both Web and iOS.

**Before you start** — The cloned-voice flow needs voice cloning already configured for your organization — see *Voice cloning (ElevenLabs)* (Module 04). Saving a fixed voice memo instead only needs Content Hub, which is gated by a feature flag and may not appear for every organization yet.

### How to send a cloned voice note

1. Open the conversation and type your message in the composer, exactly as you'd write it to send as text.
2. Click the voice-note icon instead of send — it's purple.
3. Let Mochi convert what you typed into audio, spoken in the creator's cloned voice.
4. Preview it, then send. It delivers as a native Instagram voice note in the thread.

Write it the way you'd actually say it out loud. Since the clone reads your exact text, stiff or overly formal phrasing comes out sounding stiff and formal too.

### Saving a fixed voice memo instead

If you'd rather send the same pre-recorded memo to multiple leads — an intro, a testimonial read-aloud, anything that doesn't need to change per lead — record it once and save it as Content Hub Media.

**Web:** `Sidebar > Content Hub` (or `Settings > Content Hub`), then use the **Upload Media** action card to save a voice memo. **iOS:** `Settings > Content Hub`, then use the add control and choose **Media**.

1. Record or upload your voice memo once and save it as Media in Content Hub.
2. Type `/` in the composer of any conversation to open the menu.
3. Select your voice memo from the **Media** tab.
4. Preview it, then send.

You can also build a voice note into a message template as one of its ordered steps. See Slash commands & message templates.

### Tips

* For cloned voice notes, type naturally — short sentences, contractions, the way you'd actually talk — since the clone reads exactly what you write.
* Record fixed memos in a quiet space with a natural, conversational tone — the same habit that makes a good voice clone also makes a good saved memo.
* Save a handful of your best, most natural-sounding recordings as reusable Media for moments where you want one fixed, consistent line instead of a freshly generated one every time.
* If a cloned voice note sounds robotic, that's a voice-cloning setup issue, not something to fix per message — see the troubleshooting table in *Voice cloning (ElevenLabs)* (Module 04).

### Common mistakes & fixes

| Mistake | Fix |
| -------------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Voice-note icon is missing or does nothing | Voice cloning isn't configured for your organization yet. See *Voice cloning (ElevenLabs)* (Module 04). |
| Cloned voice note sounds stiff or robotic | That's usually the underlying voice clone, not this message — check the recording quality and stability settings covered in Module 04's troubleshooting table. |
| Can't find a saved voice memo in a chat | Confirm it was uploaded as Content Hub Media, then check the **Media** tab of the `/` menu. |
| Looking for a way to send the exact same memo every time | That's the fixed-memo path above, not the cloned-voice icon — save it once as Content Hub Media. |

### Limits & good to know

* The cloned-voice icon needs voice cloning configured for your organization — see *Voice cloning (ElevenLabs)* (Module 04).
* A saved voice memo (the fixed-memo path) sends the same audio to every lead and doesn't need voice cloning at all.
* Content Hub is gated by a feature flag, so it may not appear for every organization yet.
* Sending either type of voice note is still a real DM, so it's bound by Instagram's reply window like anything else you send.
