# Tracking Pixel

## Tracking Pixel

**What it is** — A tracking snippet you install on an external page you control — a VSL (video sales letter), landing page, or similar — so a visit to that page attributes back to a lead, the same way Mochi's tracking links already attribute clicks. It lives under Dashboard > Links, in its own **Tracking Pixel** tab.

**Who can use it** — Not separately confirmed by role. It sits in the same Dashboard > Links area as tracking-link analytics; installing a page-level snippet is the kind of setup task that's Creator/Manager-only elsewhere in Mochi (e.g., custom domains), so expect similar gating — but this hasn't been confirmed specifically for the pixel.

**Before you start** — An external page (VSL, landing page, etc.) that you control and that supports adding custom code — some hosted pages, like a scheduling tool's own confirmation screen, don't allow this.

### How to install it

**Web:**

1. Go to **Dashboard > Links**.
2. Open the **Tracking Pixel** tab.
3. Copy the snippet Mochi provides.
4. Paste it into the external page you want to track — typically into the page's `<head>` or wherever that page host accepts custom tracking scripts.

**iOS:** Not confirmed. Dashboard > Links is documented as a web flow, with iOS using Content Hub for link creation instead — treat the Tracking Pixel tab as web-only until confirmed otherwise.

### Tips

* Mochi tracking links already attribute clicks on anything you send through Mochi (see Tracking Links & Attribution). The pixel is specifically useful for attributing a page visit itself, independent of which link got someone there, on pages you host and control.
* If your funnel already routes end to end through tracked Mochi links, weigh whether adding the pixel to a given page adds meaningfully more signal before spending time installing it.

### Common mistakes & fixes

| Mistake | Fix |
| -------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Assuming the pixel replaces tracking links | It complements them — links track clicks and conversation attribution; the pixel tracks visits to a page you control. |
| Trying to install on a page you can't add custom code to | Not possible on hosted pages that don't allow custom code (e.g., some scheduling tools' own confirmation pages). Rely on link-click tracking for that step instead. |
| Pixel shows "inactive" with no obvious fix | Not yet a confirmed self-serve fix — flag it to Mochi support rather than troubleshooting alone. |
| Don't see the Tracking Pixel tab under Dashboard > Links | Visibility has been reported as inconsistent across organizations — check with your Mochi contact if it's missing. |

### Limits & good to know

* Confirmed to exist: Dashboard > Links > Tracking Pixel tab, for attributing visits to external pages (VSL/landing pages) you control.
* Reported rough edges: inconsistent tab visibility across organizations, and an unclear "inactive" state — see above.
