# Link analytics

## Links analytics

**What it is** — Every Mochi tracking link records who clicked it, when, and from where. Links analytics is where you read that data — both per-link, on the Dashboard, and per-lead, on that lead's own timeline.

**Who can use it** — Anyone who can open the Dashboard can view link analytics — it isn't role-gated the way Payments or custom domains are. Confirmed on **Web**. **iOS** covers creating and managing links, but the detailed per-link analytics view below is only confirmed for web — see the note under "How to use it."

**Before you start** — You need at least one tracking link created and sent. If you haven't set one up yet, start with Tracking links & attribution.

### How to use it

**Web:**

1. Open **Dashboard > Links**.
2. Click into any link to see its analytics.

**iOS:**

1. Open **Settings > Content Hub** to view and manage your saved links.

### What each link's analytics show

Every send tracks:

* **Clicked?** — whether the link was clicked at all.
* **First click** — when it was clicked for the first time.
* **Total clicks** — how many times it's been clicked.
* **Location and device** — basic geographic and device info for the clicks.

Bot clicks are filtered out automatically, so these numbers reflect real people.

### Lead timeline events

Beyond the aggregate view at **Dashboard > Links**, every individual lead's timeline shows **link-sent** and **link-clicked** events for that specific lead. Open the lead's profile to see exactly which links they got and whether they engaged — useful context right before you follow up.

### Tips

* A link that's sent but not clicked is a real signal — pair it with an AI follow-up rule so no one has to remember to nudge manually.
* Always send links through Mochi's composer, or insert a saved link from Content Hub, rather than pasting a raw URL — see the common mistake below.
* Check a lead's timeline before a call to see what they've already clicked; it's a quick way to gauge real interest.

### Common mistakes & fixes

| Mistake | Fix |
| ---------------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Pasting a raw URL (like a Calendly link) as plain text | It bypasses tracking entirely — no click is ever recorded. Let smart-link conversion turn it into a Mochi short link first, or insert a saved link from Content Hub. |
| Assuming a low click count means the lead isn't interested | Check location and device too, and remember bot clicks are already filtered out — what's left is real activity. |
| Expecting a link's analytics to update instantly | Give it a moment. Like the rest of the Dashboard, analytics can lag slightly behind the most recent click. |

### Limits & good to know

* Once a URL has been converted into a Mochi short link, it stays tracked even if someone later pastes it directly — but only after that first conversion happens.
* Custom branded domains (for example `go.yourbrand.com` instead of `moch.me`) are a separate, web-only, Creator/Manager-gated beta feature — see Custom branded link domain.
* Links and Payments tabs on the Dashboard only appear when enabled for your org.
